The Center of Excellence for Controlled Environment Agriculture Technology Transfer, Education and Applicable Research, or 'CEA Center', has been created at Cornell University through funding by the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA). The purpose of the CEA Center is to deliver educational, training and up-to-date information that will encourage and support hydroponic vegetable production in controlled environments in colder climates. In addition to our world wide web presence, we will present periodic workshops for secondary school teachers, the general public, potential growers, and current growers. Dates, times and locations of workshops will be publicized on this web site as they are scheduled.
Internships will provide potential greenhouse managers to the industry, for which there is currently no good source of such skilled professionals.
The first workshops in each category (secondary school teachers, general public/potential growers, current growers) have been completed.
