Spinach Handbook

RO Water
Reverse Osmosis (RO) water contains virtually no nutrients or contaminants. Tap water can be used to make the nutrient solution; however, the nutrients in the tap water must be taken into consideration when adding the fertilizer. Tap water may contain chlorine or other contaminants, which may cause problems for the growth of hydroponic spinach. Bicarbonates present in tap water can make pH adjustment of the nutrient solution difficult. Use of RO water eliminates these problems.
